PROFILE
He swings the new ball. He nails his yorkers with the old. He can bat at practically any position. A left-handed angle to top it all. Also, he’s still very young. Sam Curran, the cricketing commodity, is pure gold dust.
A Surrey lad, he started his international career in 2018, and first made his mark in the longest format as a new ball bowler. But with every passing season, kept adding feather after feather to his hat, and skill after skill to his armoury, and now, is arguably the best seaming all-rounder in the world.
Not many know this, but Sam is the son of former Zimbabwe all-rounder, Kevin Curran, and has spent his growing up years in Africa. He’s now all grown up and at the peak of his game as he returns to the continent, with the badge of being a World T20 Champion and the Man of the Series.
